The attendance tracker- QRTI.me

Managing employees is always a challenge for the Human Resource Department of any organization. Especially when it comes to attendance, it’s always a never ending effort to control the absenteeism and tardiness. I work in a software firm as an HR Manager. As I was taking care of client relations also, I used to be out of my office for long time. Therefore, tracking attendance was a nightmare. Previously I was tracking attendance manually in excel. It did not work though. My company was not in a stage to spend much money for the expensive RFID card system. So, I was looking for a cheaper workable solution. 

After quite a long time, I found out about the QRTI.me app. QRTI.me is a cloud-based attendance tracking system, which allows the employees to punch in from their ID cards. I installed the app in an IOS device and set it. It's a beta version. I assume they will be improving the interface and usability. The app is less complicated to install and user friendly too. The internet connection and a smart device will do to get the app up and running. 

It can be used from multiple locations with the QRTI.me credentials, so I can check the attendances even if I am not at office. At first it seemed it could be a problem. If a user can sign in from anywhere, then it's impossible to have the actual report. After some trials I realized it differentiates the location and devices used to sign in or log in, by colors. So it's easy to understand if somebody is trying to cheat, thanks to the multiple layers of security check.

One issue that disappoints me is, I cannot delete any employee or department. I can only disable or modify them. For employees, it's okay but for departments, I feel there should be an option to delete it. Again, it has an advantage too. It helps to maintain past tracks. The best functionality is reporting. With individual time sheets for each employee I can have a proper document for the performance appraisal. And the attendance counter report makes the attendance management easier now.
